Making Khoya/ Mawa the traditional way can be time consuming but when its done and added to any dish, Khoya gives a richness of flavour unlike any other ingredient. If you live somewhere that you can't buy readymade Khoya and you don't have the time it takes to make it the traditional way, this quick and easy recipe is perfect for you!
Ingredients:
- 500 gms ricotta cheese
Preparation:
- Put the ricotta cheese in a flat, wide dish with a thick bottom. Set up to cook on medium heat.
- Stir frequently to prevent scorching or burning and cook until all the liquid in the ricotta dries up. Once it does, keep cooking until the ricotta begins to turn crumbly and a pale golden color.
- The Khoya/ Mawa is now ready! You can use it in any recipe as called for.
