This yummy dip can also be served as a chutney! It is an Indian take on Middle Eastern Hummus. Serve Chatpata Chana Dip with potato chips, Chapati crispies, poppadums or Bhakri.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup boiled chickpeas/ 1 can chickpeas (drained and rinsed thoroughly)
- 1 large tomato choppped very fine
- 1 medium onion chopped very fine
- Red chilli flakes to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp mustard oil/ eatra virgin olive oil (as preferred)
- Juice of 1/2 a lime or lemon
Preparation:
- Mash the chickpeas coarsely (the result should be mostly smooth with some chunky bits).
- Add all the other ingredients and blend.
- Chill and serve with chips or dippers of your choice. Some of my personal favorites are poppadums, Chapati crispies, Bhakri or bits of Naan.
