If you'd never thought of Chip and Dip as an Indian concept, think again! Treat yourself with these seriously yummy snacks when you're settling down to that long-awaited movie or game in front of the TV at home. Even better, wow friends with creative and out-of-the-ordinary munchies at your next get-together. You won't believe how simple some of these are!

Tips for Chips

Chapati Crispies: This is a great way to use leftover Chapatis. Don't have leftover Chapatis? It will still be well worth your time to make fresh ones and turn them into crispies! Chapati Crispies will store well for a couple of days if kept in an air-tight container.

Bhakri: This crispy Gujarati (western Indian) snack is so simple yet so yummy. If you can't get your hands on Bhakris because your local Indian store doesn't have them, make mock Bhakris! They're just as tasty.

Poppadums: Any kind, any size! Poppadums are now available in various shapes and sizes and made from all sorts of ingredients like lentils, rice, and even Sago. Not only do they taste good as dippers, you can also serve them as the perfect finishing touch to any Indian meal.

Naans: Cut this versatile Indian flatbread into triangles or squares and serve with chunky dips. Delicious!

Dip, Dip, Dip...

Pyaaz Ki Chutney: This delicious chutney can be used as a dip or spread and tastes great with just about anything!

Baingan Ka Bharta: This is actually a vegetarian side dish but its beautiful texture makes it the perfect dipping option for your favorite crispies!

Sikkim Tomato Chutney: Blend this fiery chutney with some regular thick cream or sour cream to make a dip you'll remember for days. It also makes a great sandwich spread. Simply store in the fridge after preparing.

Nagi's Garlic Gunpowder: Blend this hot, hot, hot dry South Indian chutney with a little tamarind juice to make a paste and viola! You've got hot and tangy dipping sauce!

Aaloo Dip: This dip was inspired by a North Indian vegetable side dish called Aaloo Ka Bharta!

Minty Yogurt Dip: Can do double duty as a raita (yogurt side dish)! It tastes good with any kind of chips or dippers and is also a great accompaniment for your favorite rice pilaf.

Chatpata Chana Dip: This is a tasty Indian take on Middle Eastern hummus!
